Albert Nelson's Bio
Albert (Sonny) Nelson brings more than 30 years of extensive experience in the construction industry, with more than 15 years running his own contracting business, to his role as Recreation Development Company LLC’s (RDC) Vice President of Operations.
Sonny has managed a variety of projects from highly sophisticated manufacturing facilities, to complex hospitality projects to sensitive government projects including overseas work for the Department of Defense and Department of State. His worldwide experience ensures his level of commitment and successful results demanded by our clients.
Sonny has in-depth knowledge of field set up, site work, general construction, steel erection, roofing, shell building, HVAC, electrical and plumbing, He is very adept in overseeing subcontractors, maintaining quality control and complying with FDA, OSHA, SMAC, general building codes, compiling daily activity and incident reports. He strives to ensure job safety by dealing with engineers, inspectors, city, town, government officials and identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
Before joining RDC, Sonny served as a Project Superintendent for Marshall Contracting, Fluor Corporation and Whiting Turner.
In his long career, Sonny has worked on such eventful projects as World Market Center, Toro University, Fantasy Tower at the Palms Casino & Hotel, Excalibur Casino & Hotel – all in Las Vegas as well as Organogensis Inc., CVS Corporation (Corporate Accounting Center), AT&T Call/Data Center, Copley Pharmaceutical “Fette” Tablet Manufacturing Facility and Lucent Technology Office Renovation – all in Massachusetts.
Sonny holds an Associate degree in Science/Technology from the Community College of Rhode Island in Providence, Rhode Island and a Bachelor of Science degree in Science/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island.
Bud Bentley's Bio
Bud Bentley is the General Superintendent for Recreation Development Company LLC (RDC) where he oversees the company’s field superintendents and employees. Bud is responsible for establishing, coordinating and maintaining all construction projects from beginning to completion. He develops and manages project schedule coordination of crews, materials, equipment, and oversight of the teams’ adherences to RDC’s safety program.
With over 20 years of construction experience, including 15 as a Superintendent, Bud brings RDC a vast amount of experience in development and implementation of project schedules on large, multi-phased projects.
His experience includes Silverton Hotel Casino Expansion, Silverton Parking Garage, Allure Towers, Carlos Bakery at the Venetian Las Vegas and the New York New York Hotel & Casino Master Plan Expansion.
Heath Bolhouse's Bio
Heath Bolhouse serves as Controller for Recreation Development Company LLC (RDC) where he manages the day-to-day operations of the company’s accounting and reporting functions, as well as all human resource functions. With more than 20 years of financial operations experience, Heath was responsible for increasing RDC’s net profit percentage eight-fold from 2012 to 2013 by decreasing overhead costs and managing job costs.
In his role at RDC, Heath is responsible for providing leadership and coordination of the company’s financial planning, forecasting and budgeting functions; ensuring quality and maintaining accountability through the best practice of fiscal policies and procedures; sustaining steady company growth; increasing company’s lines of credit; oversight of all accounts payable and accounts receivable duties; external financial relationships; all human resource functions including new hires, terminations and company benefits; and making sound business decisions for the company.
Heath brings a combination of strategic planning, project management and audit experience to RDC. Throughout his career, he has worked for several Las Vegas legacy construction companies.
Heath has a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Banking and Finance from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Jeff Bohannon's Bio
Jeff Bohannon, RDC's Shop Manager, has worked for Recreation Development Company since March of 2012. Jeff is very professional at running his shop crew. He uses his experience & creativity to get all of RDC's metal work and all other finish work done professionally and on time for our clients.
He has had experience since 1999 at supervising, managing, finish carpentry, architectural metal work, drywall, stainless steel & aluminum finishing, installation, etc.
Jeff and his crew design decorative quality handrails, structural metals, ornamental, sheet metal, etc. with our high performance equipment, including a water jet system.
Jeff Whittle's Bio
Jeff Whittle has been the helm of Recreation Development Company LLC (RDC) since 1991. As a successful entrepreneur and third generation craftsman/contractor who has transformed a small start-up with a few employees into a multi-million dollar company, has helped make Jeff one the most trusted names in the construction industry in Nevada.
Jeff’s knowledge and unique insight of the general construction industry and creating and constructing themed architectural elements is evident in the many notable projects he has overseen for the past 25 years. Some of his projects include the Beach at Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino, the Statue of Liberty at New York New York Hotel & Casino, the Nile River Tour Ride at Luxor Las Vegas, the atrium at the Mirage Hotel and Casino, numerous project for Penn Gaming, the third largest gaming company in the world, and Buddy V’s Ristorante for TLC’s “Cake Boss” star Buddy Valastro at the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian/the Palazzo.
Jeff was born and raised in Las Vegas, leaving only to serve his church in Taiwan for two years and attend Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He has served in numerous leadership positions in his church and community and is currently the Vice President of the United Building Contractors of America and a Trustee for both the Plasterers Union Trust Fund and the Southwest Regional Carpenters.
Kayne Siler's Bio
Kayne Siler serves as Project Manager for Recreation Development Company LLC (RDC) where he directs and supervises the company’s field employees. Aside from having a comprehensive grasp of all aspects of construction, Kayne is RDC’s computer whiz and can troubleshoot and fix any computer-related problem.
Kayne’s responsibilities at RDC include scheduling projects in logistical steps and time management required to meet deadlines; obtaining all necessary permits and licenses; requisitioning supplies and materials to complete projects; preparing and submitting budget estimates and progress/cost tracking reports; conferring with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors and design professionals to resolve matters; and planning, organizing and directing activities concerning project construction and maintenance of structures, facilities and systems.
Kayne’s creative problem solving and time management skills, coupled with outstanding interpersonal skills generate tangible and seen results.
He is currently attending the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) to earn his Associate’s degree in Electronic Engineering Network Security.
Kayne has a wife named Chona and two daughters – Carson, age 7 and Quinn, age 2.
Shelley Whittle's Bio
Shelley Whittle is a Principal of Recreation Development Company LLC (RDC). She has resided in Las Vegas since 1973 and has always kept up with the newest construction projects around the Las Vegas Valley and throughout the nation.
Shelley joined the construction industry in 2000, specializing in marketing and administration management, and is responsible for building and managing our team of highly trained professionals and for helping set the strategic direction of client accounts.
Shelley has received accolades and is consistently praised by our clients for her meticulous quality and timeliness attention to detail, exemplary customer service delivery and team-player attitude. She manages our front-of-house operations, all marketing activities, in addition to overseeing day-to-day activities for our company.
In addition to her role as a Principal of our company, Shelley is a Managing Member of the Whittle Family Limited Partnership, which procures and manages commercial properties. She was instrumental in the design, planning and construction of the salon she owns called Rain Salon Studios in Las Vegas and was named “2010/2011 Woman of the Year” by The National Association of Professional Women.
Spencer DeMille's Bio
Spencer DeMille is a Project Manager for Recreation Development Company LLC (RDC) where he is responsible for the overall construction of projects assigned.
His role at RDC includes interacting with the design professionals, consultants, general contractors and owners while successfully directing other construction-related personnel in planning, coordinating and safely executing the work in accordance with contract documents.
Spencer is a professional and personable leader committed to RDC’s overall objectives. His other responsibilities at RDC include creating and maintaining project schedules; creating and managing budgets to maximize profits; creating and organizing change orders, purchase orders, submittals/transmittals and RFI’s; executing permitting process with the County and City; working on LEED Certified projects and document control.
Spencer earned a B.A. in Business Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
